Anybody is welcome to submit their work, provided that the work is relevant to Korean Studies, with sound argument and written in appropriate English. Our contributors come from diverse academic background, covering range of topics including history, sociology, arts, anthropology and political science. Meanwhile, we especially encourage inter-disciplinary studies. We have had many Korean Studies professors from universities in Korea and overseas contribute their work to SJKS. Scholars from research institutions have also submitted their work. We also have had many Ph.D. candidates submit their work, often related to their dissertation. In case of book notes, we have received many contributions from M.A. candidates as well.

모두의 논문투고를 환영합니다. 물론 한국학에 관련된 연구 논문이어야 하며, 영문으로 작성된 것이어야 합니다. 현재까지 연구자들께서는 역사, 사회학, 예술, 인류학, 정치학 등 다양한 학문적 배경을 바탕 한 논문을 제출해주셨습니다. 특히 학제간의 연구를 환영합니다. 한국 및 해외 대학의 많은 교수님들께서 서울저널에 기고해주셨으며, 연구 기관에 소속한 학자들께서도 투고를 받았습니다. 또한 많은 박사 학위 후보생들도 자신의 논문 과 관련된 연구를 제출하였습니다. Book notes의 경우, 석사후보생들이 많은 기여를 하였습니다.

We are currently NOT listed under SSCI/AHCI index. We were previously listed in year 2013, but as of 2014 we are no longer listed. We are trying to regain this status. But we are uncertain as to when this will happen.

현재 서울저널은 SSCI/AHCI에 등재되어 있지 않습니다. 2013년도에는 등재되어 있었으나, 2014년부로는 미등재 상태입니다. 다시 SSCI/AHCI 등재지가 되기 위해 노력중에 있습니다.

We do not have a set deadline. You may submit your article whenever you feel ready to do so. However, please note that we publish the journal twice a year – once in June and again in December – and it takes between minimum one week to maximum six months to review/revise your article after submission. This means that you need to send us the article by March, latest, if you want to get your article published in June; by September, latest, if you want to get your article published in December

별도의 마감일은 없습니다. 논문은 수시로 접수하고 있습니다. 단, 서울저널이 6월과 12월에 연 2회 발간된다는 점, 그리고 심사기간이 최소 1주에서 최대 6개월까지 소요 가능하다는 점 유의하시기 바랍니다. 6월호에 기재하고자 하실 경우 3월까지, 12월호에 기재하고 하실 경우 9월까지는 논문을 투고해주셔야 합니다.
